Truck driver faces lawsuit after deadly collision in Alabama

A lawsuit has been filed against the truck driver, Andrii Dmyterko, involved in a severe crash in Thomasville, Alabama, on May 6th.

The details: The incident took place when Dmyterko's truck hit four vehicles at a red light on Highway 43, leaving two dead and four injured.

  • Among the deceased was 37-year-old Ashley Marie Springer McDonald and 53-year-old Woodie Earl Beck III, a well-loved coach at Wilcox Academy.
  • Nancy Calvert, an injured passenger, has taken legal action due to serious injuries sustained from the crash.

Allegations: The lawsuit claims Dmyterko was "distracted and/or inattentive and/or impaired," as no attempt to brake was observed. The dash cam footage reportedly confirms this lack of action, reported AL.com.

The response: Calvert's attorney, Josh Hayes, emphasizes their commitment to uncovering all facts surrounding the incident.

Dmyterko remains in custody facing manslaughter charges, with the investigation ongoing.
