Truck driver found guilty after fight over Texas parking spot

A truck driver was found guilty this week for seriously injuring an elderly man during a parking dispute in Laredo, Texas.

What happened: On August 8, 2021, Salvador Arredondo came home and saw a tractor trailer parked on his property. He told the driver, Leiser Serrano-Forte, to leave since he didn't have permission to park there.

  • Serrano-Forte said someone else had told him he could park at that yard.
  • When Arredondo walked to his own truck to get his phone and call police, Serrano-Forte followed him and attacked him.
  • Police arrived and found Arredondo lying on the ground.

The outcome: On October 21, 2025, a jury found Serrano-Forte guilty of injury to an elderly person causing serious harm — a first-degree felony.

  • The jury recommended 10 years probation instead of prison, and a report will decide if Serrano-Forte must pay restitution later, according to KGNS.
