Truck driver killed after crash with semi and hit-and-run pickup

On Wednesday, August 13, just after 2:30 a.m., a deadly hit-and-run on I-75 northbound at South Marietta Parkway took the life of 36-year-old truck driver Terrell Loudermilk.

What happened: Loudermilk had just been in a crash with another semi. As he stood outside his rig, he was hit by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup fled the scene.

  • On August 15, Christopher Bradshaw, age 48, turned himself in at the Cobb County Jail.
  • Bradshaw had worked 14 years as a police lieutenant with the Milton Police Department. He was off-duty at the time of the incident and was fired by the department after his arrest.

The charges: Bradshaw is facing charges of homicide by vehicle and felony hit and run, reported WSB-TV.

Police impounded the suspected vehicle, a Chevy Silverado, earlier on Friday. The investigation is ongoing, and the family of the truck driver has set up a fundraiser for funeral expenses.
