Truck driver wakes to thieves stealing $22k meat load

Early Sunday morning, July 20, a truck parked along Roosevelt Boulevard in Northeast Philadelphia was hit by thieves while the driver slept in the cab.

What happened: Around 3:15 a.m., the driver felt the truck shaking. When he checked, he saw two men stealing boxes of meat from his trailer and moving them to two Nissan vehicles.

The robbers took off before police arrived.
40 boxes were taken, but police later found 8 boxes abandoned on the same block.
The stolen meat load is worth about $22,000, according to NBC Philadelphia.

The suspects, both men wearing masks, have not been tracked down yet. Police are continuing their investigation and asking anyone with info to come forward.
