Truck driver wins $7.5M lottery but keeps on trucking

A truck driver, Joel McCauley, recently struck it big after winning $7.5 million on a California Lottery scratch-off ticket. But despite the windfall, McCauley plans to continue driving his rig.

Background: McCauley bought the lucky ticket at his regular spot, Liquor, Tobacco & More, on Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View. He initially thought he had won just $7,500 before realizing it was indeed $7.5 million.

  • He's been buying tickets for 20 years and previously won up to $10,000.

Life goes on: After discovering his win, McCauley decided to invest the winnings and not change his daily routine.

"I just went on to work as if nothing happened," McCauley shared. His intention is to keep on trucking, reported KRON4 News.

Despite this massive prize, McCauley is sticking to his everyday life, proving that even life-changing events won't always steer a trucker off their path.
