The Kansas Highway Patrol spent three days checking commercial vehicles in southwest Kansas over the weekend.
The numbers: Officers inspected over 300 trucks during this push with help from Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program staff.
- 14% of the rigs checked were put out-of-service for various issues.
- 6% of drivers inspected were also taken off the road.
KHP also ran saturation patrols to find impaired drivers in Seward, Finney, and Ford counties.
The operation wrapped up with dozens of trucks and some drivers sidelined until problems could be fixed.
