Truck loses wheel in Indiana, damages parked cars

A commercial truck lost its wheel assembly while driving northbound on US 35 in La Porte County, Indiana, on May 18, damaging two parked cars.

The incident: The wheel flew off the truck, crashed through a fence, and hit two parked vehicles in a driveway. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

  • The driver, who continued heading north, may not have realized the wheel came off, according to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office (LPCSO).
  • The mishap was caught on security footage, which the police released to help identify the truck.
