Trucker finds baby raccoon hiding in engine during pre-trip

A baby raccoon was rescued from the engine compartment of a semi truck in Arapahoe County, Colorado, on the morning of July 15th.

How it happened: The truck driver was doing his pre-trip inspection around 10:30 a.m. when he spotted the raccoon curled up inside the engine.

The driver called for help, and an Animal Services officer responded to the scene.
The officer gently woke up the raccoon and used a pole to encourage it to climb out of the engine area.

The raccoon was safely removed and returned to the wild.

Nobody was hurt and the truck was not damaged.
