A baby raccoon was rescued from the engine compartment of a semi truck in Arapahoe County, Colorado, on the morning of July 15th.
How it happened: The truck driver was doing his pre-trip inspection around 10:30 a.m. when he spotted the raccoon curled up inside the engine.
- The driver called for help, and an Animal Services officer responded to the scene.
- The officer gently woke up the raccoon and used a pole to encourage it to climb out of the engine area.
The raccoon was safely removed and returned to the wild.
Nobody was hurt and the truck was not damaged.
