Trucker killed after being pinned by backing semi at dock

A 60-year-old truck driver died on Wednesday, October 15th, at the Pepsi Bottling Plant on Northeast Loop 410 near Old Seguin Road in San Antonio.

What happened: The driver noticed some of his cargo had spilled in the parking area. He put on his safety vest and got out of his truck to pick up the cargo.

  • While he was retrieving the items, another tractor-trailer reversed into the last loading space.
  • The backing truck accidentally struck the driver, pinning him between the trailer and the loading dock.
  • Paramedics arrived quickly and performed CPR, but the driver died at the scene.

The man's name has not been released. Police are still investigating the incident, reported News4SanAntonio.
