A fire erupted in a semi-truck cab at a TA Truck Stop in Scio Township, Michigan, on December 1st, injuring a truck driver and resulting in the death of his dog.
The incident: It happened early morning, around 2:51 a.m., when the driver and his dog were sleeping inside their truck cab.
- The cause of the fire was an explosion of several propane tanks inside the cab.
Response: The fire department, led by Scio Township Fire Chief Andrew Houde, quickly arrived and had the flames under control within 15 minutes.
- However, the driver's dog did not survive the incident.
What they said: "Unfortunately, the owner’s dog perished in the fire," said Houde. "It appeared that the owner was living in the truck at the time," he added, reported The Sun Times News.
The driver, who managed to escape, sustained burns and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
