Four men from Philadelphia are accused of a cargo theft ring that targeted trucks on the New Jersey Turnpike for years.
The bust: Arrestees were caught at the Molly Pitcher Service area in Cranbury, NJ, at 1:30 a.m. on September 13. Police saw the suspects breaking into a semi with the driver resting inside.
- Hanif Tucker, 31, was detained on the spot.
- Shaun Coleman, 23, was caught after a foot chase.
- Rashan Clark-Reddy, 26, and Salahudin Reddy, 37, fled in a stolen vehicle, rammed a police car, but were captured after a short pursuit.
The charges: The group faces multiple charges, including receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief. They are accused of a series of thefts involving millions in goods, such as meat and seafood, reported NJ.com.
Three police officers suffered minor injuries during the arrests and were treated and released.
The suspects are being held at the Middlesex County jail pending further investigation.
