Wisconsin trucking firm closure to impact 41 drivers

A trucking company in Wisconsin, J. Bauer Trucking Inc., has announced that it will cease operations by the end of the year, leading to job losses for dozens of employees.

Details: The closure will result in 64 employees being laid off on December 31, 2024, as per the company's notification to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

  • Of these, 41 employees are truck drivers.
  • The company confirmed there are no opportunities for transferring or finding alternate positions within J. Bauer Trucking.

Why it matters: J. Bauer Trucking has been providing regional trucking services across 47 states since its founding in 1973. The trucking community and its workers face an uncertain future with the company's shutdown.

The closure has been declared formally through a state WARN notice.

Unfortunately, with this closure, a long-standing part of Wisconsin's trucking industry will come to a close at year's end.
