Semi-truck crashes into historic Florida building; driver trapped

A semi-truck carrying a flatbed load crashed into a historic building on Talleyrand Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida, on the morning of April 15th. The impact left the driver trapped in the cab.

The incident: The crash into the 1929 building, now serving as Blue Stone Construction's headquarters, was captured by a traffic cam. Fortunately, the building was empty at the time of the incident.

  • Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department managed to extricate the driver by cutting a power line obstructing the rescue efforts.
  • Though the driver was seriously injured, they are expected to make a recovery.

Investigation: The cause of the crash is still being looked into by local authorities, reported First Coast News.

Bottom line: Fortunately, the accident did not result in any additional injuries, and the driver is anticipated to recover.
