Three crashes in 24 hours cause I-64 lane closures

Three semi truck crashes in 24 hours led to lane closures on I-64 near Barboursville, West Virginia, from November 7 to November 8, 2024.

Action taken: To prevent further accidents, local police have increased patrols in the construction zone. Officials attribute these incidents primarily to driver error.

The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) has also initiated a safety review of the work zone.
